Singapore’s Jurong Bird Park
Another place we love to visit is the Jurong Bird Park here in Singapore. There is such a wide variety of birds, many we’ve never seen before. My favorite is the shoebill also known as the whalehead. It is related to the stork. See if you can figure out which one it is. There were also several large birds, including the bald eagle, but they were hard to get pictures of because of the cages. David
We love the bird park. We spent a lot of time in the large cage with the parrots, they are so colorful. I never knew there could be so many different species. I’d love to have a backyard where they all would come. My favorites are the tanangers which are small but very colorful. The turqouise one is especially beautiful. Annie

Singapore Botanic Gardens
We visited the Botanic Gardens here in Singapore again. We can walk here in about 20 minutes and love the beauty, peace and quiet. As you can see from the pictures the flowers in the garden are amazing and there’s even an area that is filled with orchids. In fact we learned that 10% of all flowers are from the orchid family. Hope you enjoy the pictures. David
We really love going to the Botanic Gardens since we miss the park that was across the street from us in St. Paul. The flowers are so beautiful and there are so many different ones its easy to take a lot of pictures. I only wish I could capture the wonderful fragrance as well. I’m sure we’ll have more flower photos in the future. Annie

Merry Christmas from Singapore!
These are some pictures we took along Orchard Road, the main shopping area here in Singapore. It seems like many people, forget what the celebration of Christmas is all about. It’s a celebration of the birth of Jesus, a gift from God for everyone. People nowadays say let’s have an xmas celebration or holiday celebration in fear of offending someone.
Interestingly enough outside the store CK Tangs (you can see in one of the pictures) is a plague that reads “God” and quotes John 3:16. Seems people here in Singapore aren’t so offended that they’re looking to sue someone for that. I don’t know if the people at CK Tangs are Christian but I do know they acknowledged what this celebration is about. Hey folks, its Christmas so Merry Christmas from David, Annie and Ryan! David

Another day at the Singapore Zoo
We went to the zoo for our second time and really enjoyed it. Spent most the day there and saw some exhibits we had missed the first time. David got some great shots of the animals with his new Sony camera and I had fun taking pics with our old Sony Cybershot. I think it takes great photos and I’m glad it’s mine now. I love the shot of the chimpanzee playing and the baby orangutang trying to take the stick out of its mama’s mouth. He did get it by the way. Annie
